I’m sure you do it too (I know I do, every so often)…you’re driving along the freeway, traffic slows, and the first thought is an accident. But, no; not in So Cal.The chances of the accident being on your side of the freeway are very slim. Most likely, traffic is coming to a complete halt because some lookie loos have to stop in the middle of the road, turn their heads away from traffic, and look at the more than likely fender-bender in the shoulder of the opposite side of the freeway. Then, as a chain reaction, all traffic must slow and as they have nothing else to do, they themselves become lookie loos.
I’ve made a decision: when traffic slows on my side of the freeway and my live-updater tells me the accident is on the opposite side, I WILL NOT turn and look. I will not stoop to becoming a lookie loo. I will not.
Today’s non-Point: DO NOT be a lookie loo. See, that was easy.

The ability to see historic buildings and things you see on TV all the time up front, close and personal was really mind blowing. Read the rest of this entry »
I’ve never been into politics very much nor I have I ever watched an inauguration (on TV or in person). But, for some reason, I am attending the inauguration of the one President I can’t stand more than Clinton. I will admit (as it is the obvious truth) that this was a monumental election in many respects. Voters turned out in hordes, a woman was in the running for the office of the President, and a black man won (by both popular and electoral vote) the seat of the President of The United States of America. I’ve been doing an extreme amount of traveling lately and am planning even more traveling here in the near future, and I felt the need to say something about it as well as what I think about our country: it is absolutely beautiful.
Before 16 I had never even been out of California, and then my family took a trip to Colorado. After that, I must have caught the travel bug, it just didn’t take effect until more recently. Read the rest of this entry »
