Well, day 1 of the 7 day Keifer Master Cleanse Challenge has been completed, and I quit!
What in the world was someone thinking when they decided not to have coffee or real food for any length of time?!
My decision to stop was based soley on my pounding headache from no coffee and my growling, empty stomach (and my doctor friend saying it was the most unsafe detox he’s ever heard of). My hat goes off to those able to complete a 7 or 10 day cycle and congrats! Instead, I will go back to portion control and strict eating before I try another detox!
Ok, its about to begin. The 7 day Keifer Master Cleanse Challenge!
I purchased enough lemon juice and maple syrup today for at least 4 days and anticipate buying more on day 3. Mixed my first day’s 10 bottles (and snuck a taster) as well as preped the dried fruit, cheese, and eggs to be boiled (later this evening). Tomorrow morning, when I walk out my front door, Master Cleanse week will commence. Also, I decided earlier that since this is not a diet, I will not be officially tracking my weight. Thoughts?
Wish me luck! Oh, and a special thanks to the few friends that are doing this with me! Names to be named when they actually do it!
Ok, so I’ve been really disappointed lately with my diet and weight loss program. About a year ago, I lost 80 pounds and it wasn’t an easy task: gym (hundreds of dollars on the gym and thousands on a trainer), diet, water, no Starbucks, no soda, lots of small meals, etc. But, it only works when you have the time to devote to it. I’m a busy guy and have lots going on and don’t always have the time to fit in 6 small meals a day. Also, after losing all that weight, your body apparently becomes more efficient and burns less calories than when I was bigger, which meant eating even less! All of this was fine with me: I can eat less. I can give up Starbucks specialty drinks (touch my black coffee and you’ll be pulling back a bloody stub). I can eat healthy and not out all the time. But, there has to be an easier way! There has to be a great “lose-lots-quick” diet! Right?! Read the rest of this entry »
