Master Cleanse – Day 1: The End

Well, day 1 of the 7 day Keifer Master Cleanse Challenge has been completed, and I quit!

What in the world was someone thinking when they decided not to have coffee or real food for any length of time?!

My decision to stop was based soley on my pounding headache from no coffee and my growling, empty stomach (and my doctor friend saying it was the most unsafe detox he’s ever heard of). My hat goes off to those able to complete a 7 or 10 day cycle and congrats! Instead, I will go back to portion control and strict eating before I try another detox!

Master Cleanse – Day 0: Anticipation

Ok, its about to begin. The 7 day Keifer Master Cleanse Challenge!

I purchased enough lemon juice and maple syrup today for at least 4 days and anticipate buying more on day 3. Mixed my first day’s 10 bottles (and snuck a taster) as well as preped the dried fruit, cheese, and eggs to be boiled (later this evening). Tomorrow morning, when I walk out my front door, Master Cleanse week will commence. Also, I decided earlier that since this is not a diet, I will not be officially tracking my weight. Thoughts?

Wish me luck! Oh, and a special thanks to the few friends that are doing this with me! Names to be named when they actually do it!

This is not some replacement for bible reading or church, but it challenges you to consider why you think what you do about God through an easy to connect with, fictional story. This is not some God-ordained, wonderfully written story that will stand the test of time. It’s simply a man’s attempt to inspire the rest of man-kind. Read the rest of this entry »
