a blog about the inferior things in life. (by nathaniel keifer)

I’ll honk for that.

We all do it. Every so often, we all get the urge.

Honk that horn!

Or, maybe it’s just me?

I was driving along the other day and some random guy was holding a sign (that he had made with a black marker and cardboard) and all it said was “honk for good weather!” I laughed, honked, and then thought “I like honking my horn and I should do it more.” That also got me thinking about a few other things, like bumper stickers telling you to honk for something or just signs (maybe around election time) that say to honk for a candidate.

What kind of things have you seen telling you to honk for them, or what are some funny ones you have inevitably thought of after honking at one?

Judas Asparagus

A child was asked to write a book report on the entire Bible. I wonder how often we take for granted that children understand what we are teaching? I teach a 4 & 5 year old Sunday school class and I’ll have to keep this in mind for the next class. Through the eyes of a child:

The Children’s Bible in a Nutshell

In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, ‘The Lord thy God is one, but I think He must be a lot older than that.

Anyway, God said, ‘Give me a light!’ and someone did. Then God made the world.

He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren’t embarrassed because mirrors hadn’t been invented yet.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden……Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn’t have cars.

Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel.

The Man Rules: Finally Written

Thanks to my friend, Bobby, for sending this to me. Hilarious if you ask me; and dead on.

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down. Finally, the guys’ side of the story (and I must admit, it’s pretty good).

Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Note…these are all numbered “1 ” ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Sunday sports: It’s like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

STOP, Laptop, and Listen

A Semi-Critics Guide to Human Interaction

Guest posting by Jonathan H. (Pennsylvania)

It’s 8:30am and your bluetooth rings; “Hey I’ll be there in five minutes can you cover for me with the boss? I know I’m running late traffice seems bad let me see if I can gps my way out of this traffic jam using my Blackberry. Goodbye.” Instantaneously as you hang up, your smart phone beeps with that annoying sound you set for when your boss shoots you a quick text as to why you’re not at your desk yet. Upon arriving to work you scramble to check your emails from the previous day on your work commissioned laptop that you aren’t allowed to access from home. Fifteen minutes later you finish all return email correspondence that you missed after you had left the office the previous day. Yep, its your morning routine, every morning and throughout the day technology keeps you up to the minute on news, work alerts, missed assignments and appointments, your schedule for the day, and the ever so popular “How many times my heart has beat so far today” app that you just couldn’t resist downloading…

"This is not some God-ordained, wonderfully written story that will stand the test of time. It’s simply a man’s attempt to inspire the rest of man-kind."
